Does cellular connectivity make a payment system PCI compliant?

No. Private routing, VPNs and network isolation can support a secure architecture, but PCI DSS compliance depends on the complete payment environment.

How much data does a POS terminal use?

Data usage depends on transaction volume, cloud POS activity, software updates, inventory synchronization, product downloads, remote monitoring, diagnostics, digital receipts and operating-system updates. Representative terminals should be tested before selecting a fleet-wide data plan.
