Why Retail Needs Reliable IoT: POS & Kiosk Connectivity

Full Podcast Transcript

Question: How does your connectivity help retailers keep things like kiosks and POS systems online 24/7?

Answer: Every retail organization relies heavily on data. If their network's down, their phone's go down, their point-of-sale systems go down, and essentially their entire infrastructure is blown down, and they're out of business. Our solution, given the fact that it has access to every possible network, eliminates the necessary guesswork for identifying which carrier has the best signal. And again, it allows them the necessary redundancies to keep their business operational.

Q: Got any real-world examples of retailers using your tech to improve operations and improve customer experience?

A: Yes, there is a national organization that we work with. It's a national retail organization. They have locations all over the country, and they have challenges understanding which carrier to deploy. They had connectivity set up with two different carriers, which means it's three different bills, and it created an additional cost applying multiple SIM cards to a single location. By using a solution similar to ours just eliminated the unnecessary spend on having three different builds, and it streamlined their operations. You have a single point of contact that addresses all of their connectivity needs.

Q: Alex, what made you decide to jump into the retail space, and what challenges are you experiencing in the space?

A: It's a great question. In the retail space, what we're seeing is companies are deploying a single-carrier solution, and when carriers experience outages or when the primary internet goes down, it's very difficult for them to switch to another provider, because they simply don't have one available. Our solution delivers them with flexibility and the redundancy necessary to consistently stay online.
